Have Your Say

Have your say on proposals to relocate eight GP Practices in BurntwoodHave Your Say

South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) is undertaking a public consultation exercise between Monday 10 August and Monday 9 November 2009 on proposals to relocate eight GP Practices in Burntwood.

It is important that all Burntwood residents have a say on their preferred choice of relocation(s) and this consultation is to ensure that the PCT captures the views of patients.

Why relocate the eight GP practices?

All GP practices in Burntwood have outgrown their accommodation and are unable to offer new or extended services as they do not have the space.

The practices are: Salter’s Meadow Health Centre, Chasetown Medical Centre, Springhill Medical Centre, Dr Myints Practice, Boney Hay Practice, Fulfen Practice, Spires Medical Practice and Burntwood Health and Wellbeing Centre.

Earlier this year, South Staffordshire PCT carried out an appraisal of all potential sites in Burntwood for the new healthcare developments and we are now presenting the options to enable you to indicate your preferred option.

The PCT wants to hear the views of all patients as your preferences will form a vital part of the decision making process.

The consultation will close on Monday 9 November 2009 when all the responses will be gathered together in a report and put to the PCT Trust Board where a final decision will be made.

Depending on which option is chosen, development of new facilities will then commence with a completion date of late 2012 or early 2013. The new facilities will also provide accommodation or a base for Social Care, Children and Lifelong Learning, Age Concern, Carer’s Association, Burntwood Live at Home, Alzheimer’s Association and Citizens Advice Bureau.

In the meantime, all GP Practices will be operating as normal from their existing premises.

Whatever site (s) is/are chosen, with the support of local people, the new facilities will be designed as a multi-purpose building(s) which will provide an extended range of health and social care services.

We will feedback the outcome of the consultation to the public in a variety of ways including the media, newsletters, PCT website and live events.

We would be most grateful if you could indicate your preferred option for the relocation of the 8 GP practices using the form below.

Further information is contained in our consultation document or contact Sue Nabbs 01889 571758 or email sue.nabbs@southstaffspct.nhs.uk
