Public Health Intelligence
Introduction
This section of ‘Your Health’ will develop into a comprehensive resource providing a vast amount of public health intelligence in a variety of formats that we hope will be as useful to interested members of the public as it will be to students, our PCT colleagues and our professional partners such as local authorities, the police, the County Council and neighbouring PCTs.
Public health intelligence is about gathering data and information from many different sources and combining it to form a picture of the variations in health across our population and to help us understand the relationships between where we live and how healthy we are. We use this evidence to develop services to improve the health of all of us but particularly the health of those people whose health or outlooks are not as good.
Included here is information about the PCT’s Public Health Intelligence Team, our main partner organisations, useful public health intelligence web links and the main section, “Key statistics” which will cover all the key elements of population profiling and much more intelligence around the health of the South Staffordshire population.
For more information please contact the South Staffs PCT Public Health Intelligence Team at PublicHealthIntelligence@southstaffspct.nhs.uk.
