Health Management Library Service
Who are we?
The Health Management Library is part of the Health Intelligence Team, within the Public Health Directorate of South Staffordshire NHS Primary Care Trust, and supports evidence-based public health and commissioning. We provide both printed and online resources covering a range of Health Management areas, including Commissioning, Needs Assessment, Public Health, and Health Promotion.
Where we are based:
The Health Management Library is based at South Staffordshire NHS Primary Care Trust Headquarters in Rugeley.
Who we serve:
We provide a range of services to:
- all South Staffordshire PCT staff involved in public health, health promotion, commissioning, service redesign, and performance management
- Health Informatics Service employees
- students on placement
- other NHS and social care staff by arrangement
What we do:
- Literature Searching – If you don't have the time, or are experiencing difficulty in finding the information you need, we provide a literature searching service. We will provide you with appropriate full-text documents, details of relevant websites and references to items of interest.
- Document Supply – We have a small collection of books and journals that are available for loan. If the items you require are not available online or in the library we will obtain copies through our inter-library loan or photocopy request service.

- Current Awareness Service- We produce fortnightly bulletins of recent information and publications relevant to health service managers and public health staff. The updates are available via Insite and also via an e-mail distribution list. Please contact the library if you wish to be added to this list.
- We publish a number of information leaflets which can be obtained from the library.
- Athens - The Athens Access Management system provides users with access to a number of electronic resources via the National Library for Health. The library acts as administrator for this service and can provide you with an Athens password or advise you on setting up an account.
