Community Hospitals in Staffordshire

Two community hospitals run by South Staffordshire PCT Provider Services offer excellent care and services for people living in and around Tamworth and the Lichfield and Burntwood area.

Patient and Visitor Parking Areas

The patient and visitor parking is close to the hospital entrance.

Patients and Visitors who are disabled

Spaces are specifically designated for cars which display the "orange" or "blue European" badges for disabled people. No payment is required.

Vehicles can be driven up to a "drop off" area to allow anyone with a mobility problem to alight or be picked up.

Pay on Foot arrangements

All parking is barrier-controlled. On approach to the car park area a ticket is issued, the barrier will then raise allowing access to the car park. The ticket should be taken into the hospital with you as the payment machines are located just inside the main hospital entrance.

Payment

Pay on Foot payment machines are located just inside the main hospital entrance. The machines will take coins or bank notes for payment. The operating instructions and tariffs are displayed on the machines – your payment ticket will be issued, which can then be inserted at the car park exit to raise the barrier.

Charges are based on length of stay.

Treatments available at Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth and Samuel Johnson Hospital, Lichfield

Inpatient wards offer rehabilitation, care of older people, general medical care (including infusions and blood transfusions) and palliative care.

Both community hospitals cover a range of specialities including Cardiology, Colorectal Surgery, Dermatology, Diabetes, Ear Nose and Throat, Gallbladder, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, General Paediatrics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Haematology, Renal, Neurology, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Respiratory, Rheumatology, Urology.

In addition, specialist nurse clinics support long term conditions such as post operative orthopaedics, Parkinson’s Disease, diabetes, epilepsy, dermatology, continence promotion, vascular, multiple sclerosis, stoma care and light therapy.
