is a FREE 12 week support programme combined with medications on prescription and a choice of service tailored to suit your needs in the following settings:-
- GP
- Pharmacy
- One to one drop ins
- Virtual service
- Workplace
- Pregnancy
Carbon monoxide readings are available at all of these settings
GP or Pharmacy
One-to-one support is offered at pharmacies and general practices where staff are specially trained in smoking cessation. This support is for at least 6 to 12-weeks with the use of medications.
One-to-One drop in appointments
Some people prefer one-to-one support. has one to ones which are specialist clinics usually running out of hours providing lots of support and medication from trained advisors. This service is available to anyone who would like to stop smoking with as much or little support as a client needs.
Phone/Virtual Support
offers phone or email support for clients who don’t have time to access clinics. With virtual support clients have weekly phone calls from specialist advisors and prescriptions for NRT or referral letters for Champix or Zyban posted to their home address. Call 0800 0434304 for this service.
Workplace
offers workplace initiatives, where support can be offered to colleagues during work time. A minimum of 15 people interested in going smokefree is required for to provide a workplace initiative. If you and your work colleagues would like to stop smoking or you are an employer and would like more information about helping your staff go smokefree please call 0800 0434304
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant this is the perfect time to quit, and did you know that you are up to four times more likely to successfully go smokefree if you use Pharmacy, GP or one to one through services. You can also use medication like patches or gum to help cope with your cravings.
It is usually fine for pregnant women to use Nicotine Replacement Therapy products, although we recommend that you check with your doctor or a adviser first.
