Go Smoke Free

Proven to make your willpower more powerful

It has been proven that the kind of support offered by Time To Quit, combined with medication for stopping smoking, can be up to four times more effective than willpower alone. One in two people who use Time To Quit NHS Stop Smoking Service are not smoking four weeks later.

Time To Quit is a FREE 12 week support programme combined with medications on prescription and a choice of service tailored to suit your needs in the following settings:-

  • GP
  • Pharmacy
  • One to one drop ins
  • Virtual service
  • Workplace
  • Pregnancy

Carbon monoxide readings are available at all of these settings

GP or Pharmacy

One-to-one support is offered at pharmacies and general practices where staff are specially trained in smoking cessation. This support is for at least 6 to 12-weeks with the use of medications.

One-to-One drop in appointments

Some people prefer one-to-one support. Time To Quit has one to ones which are specialist clinics usually running out of hours providing lots of support and medication from trained advisors. This service is available to anyone who would like to stop smoking with as much or little support as a client needs.

Phone/Virtual Support

Time To Quit offers phone or email support for clients who don’t have time to access clinics. With virtual support clients have weekly phone calls from specialist advisors and prescriptions for NRT or referral letters for Champix or Zyban posted to their home address. Call 0800 0434304 for this service.

Workplace

Time To Quit offers workplace initiatives, where support can be offered to colleagues during work time. A minimum of 15 people interested in going smokefree is required for Time To Quit to provide a workplace initiative. If you and your work colleagues would like to stop smoking or you are an employer and would like more information about helping your staff go smokefree please call 0800 0434304

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant this is the perfect time to quit, and did you know that you are up to four times more likely to successfully go smokefree if you use Pharmacy, GP or one to one through Time To Quit services. You can also use medication like patches or gum to help cope with your cravings.

It is usually fine for pregnant women to use Nicotine Replacement Therapy products, although we recommend that you check with your doctor or a Time To Quit adviser first.
